Abdul Naser Ikram
Abdul Naser Ikram has more than 10 years' experience in managing and executing research and development projects in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He has very good knowledge of developing monitoring and evaluation systems for short and long terms project in post conflict countries such as Afghanistan.
He has worked as a senior monitoring and evaluation advisor for ministry of public health in Afghanistan where he contributed significantly in revitalizing and establishing a full fledge monitoring system for Afghan public healthcare sector.
He has also worked in the capacity of quality improvement director for University Research Co., LLC, a US based agency in Kabul Afghanistan for almost two years. He specializes in social research in developing countries, measurement, evaluation, quality improvement and sector strategy development. He has ample experience of working in both public and private sectors.
In public sector, he supervised a major evaluation conducted by John Hopkins University in Afghanistan to assess ministry of public health; and provided significant technical assistance to the Hopkins team in Afghanistan. In private sector, he has developed "Improving quality of health care" strategy for ministry of public health and established an "improving quality of health care" unit in ministry of public health. His clients included DFID, USAID, EC, Save the Children and GAVI.
