Edinburgh Napier University is a leading education and research institution in Scotland across a number of academic and industry fields. It performed very strongly in the most recent Research Assessment Exercise and has a strong track record in engaging and working with business and industry, and attracting and obtaining external funding.

 

The project is designed to build on the development work of the Institute for Health & Science Innovation to date, and to develop a prioritised strategic action plan for engaging with industry and key clients maximising commercial income streams. The focus is to provide the knowledge, skills and approach to build new external engagement and new revenue streams for the Institute.

 

The project will provide:

• Assessment of priority market opportunities and focus for the Research Institute
• Skills needs analysis & key staff engagement and development 

 

A key initiative underpinning all of the knowledge transfer and commercialisation activity has been the development of 9 Research Institutes, providing a rapid and customer focused one stop entry and service point for businesses seeking to understand, access and work with the range of academic and research expertise across the University.
